This time, I would like to talk about much demanded Harry Potter piggy bank DIY project. First, I should make a confession: “I am not a Potterhead.” I think you are shocked. Because when you watch videos on YouTube, you see that everyone is a fan (or are they?).

Well, I decided to make piggy banks that resemble the two characters in Harry Potter films. One of them is our lead character Harry, and the other one is his buddy Ron. (we can say that they are buddies, right?). My purpose in the project is to show how to make a simple character without going into details. Because projects that only talented people can make when you go into details can turn into easier projects when we only emphasised some characteristics.

Materials:

  • Tin boxes with plastic cove (I used baby food cans)
  • Eva
  • Glue

After measuring the box with a thread, I marked skin colour on EVA.I glued this EVA around the box with silicon. At this step, make sure that you can close the cover.I cut black EVA pieces for hair of Harry Potter and shaped his hair with scissors.I cut his scarf from yellow EVA and painted purple lines with acrylic paint.I cut his glasses with the help of a coffee cup.I coated the upper plastic cover with black EVA and cut it with craft knife.I painted famous mark of Harry with a marker. When I glued all pieces, my Harry Potter piggy bank is ready.

The steps are the same for Ron. But this time, I used orange EVA for his hair.

If you try the piggy bank that will a good gift for Harry Potter fans, you can comment on my Instagram page.
